Ability to create 'Interest Groups' for your sports club, band, alumni group, association, hobbies, etc. with more than 20 people.
Build small handpicked groups around business topics where the target audience is usually strongly connected to it (ie. Software Engineering) and invite people. This could be a "marketing" activity for CoffeeCall and less of a public feature for everyone.
Another great idea Felix, and we actually started experimenting with this 'Interest Group' idea already. Last weeks we created a couple of 'Personal Groups' where we shared the invitelink through social media. Eg. Agile Hotline, Marketing, Growth Hacking, Scrum English and some more.
It's interesting to see that slowly but surely these groups get more and more people.
I would highly encourage you to create some Personal Groups
(like Software Engineering), share them through your channels and see how they're growing. You can easily transfer 'admin' rights to others in the group later on.
Going into this feature space is pretty tricky. It can be great, but it can also dilute the clarity of the tool if you focus on enterprise customers. I'm not sure how to approach this topic.
I agree. The core should still be the same: informal, random, 1 to 1, timeboxed coffee chat. It's just with a different group of people and potential different goal: eg. networking, problem-solving, expertise sharing, etc.
Btw. I merged your idea with another one which is sort of similar. Keep the great ideas coming.
I like the idea of interest groups as you name them. Why not even decide on making an interest group public or not. Then everybody could search and see the public ones and apply for becoming a member. This would then correspond to ideas.coffeecall.com/b/feature-requests/possibility-to-connect-with-people-outside-your-group/
